This week, our Seminar Snapshot focuses on PhotoImaging & Design Expo's phenomenal wedding sessions. Some of the photo industry's most celebrated wedding photographers will fill the Expo's conference program with live photo shoots and cutting-edge seminars.


Tommy Colbert


Session:
Creative Wedding-Photojournalism

Description:

In today's competitive wedding photography industry, you need several tools to compete and succeed at the highest levels. Tommy will show you the shooting, sales and creative techniques that have worked wonders for his business.


Background:

Tommy started his photography career studying at New England School of

Photography Boston in 1978. Recently, Tommy was featured in a three page article in the March 2003 issue of Studio Photography & Design, as well as a Nikon national advertorial, and will also be featured in an upcoming issue of Rangefinder Magazine. Tommy shoots between 40-60 weddings a year and maintains that most of his immediate success is attributed to his acute photojournalism techniques coupled with his ability to communicate with his clients.

Description:

Wedding photojournalism pioneer Denis Reggie returns to PIDE with an inspirational presentation that will showcase dozens of new wedding images and include clear explanation of his innovative camera and lighting techniques. His sensitive style and quiet approach have been chronicled in countless magazine and television features. Denis Reggie is a nationally renowned celebrity and society wedding photographer, who has been proclaimed as "the finest wedding photographer of his generation." He has photographed the weddings of famed designer Vera Wang, designer Kenneth Cole, actor Noah Wyle, football legend Fran Tarkenton, as well as over 20 Kennedy weddings. Reggie's work has been featured in publications such as W, Town and Country, Elle, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar.

Gary Fong's Digital Photography Showcase 2005

Description:

Spend an intense session with Gary Fong as he showcases a collection of the major advancements in digital photography, lighting and Photoshop techniques and album design. A leading innovator in digital photography and software, as well as one of photography's most celebrated wedding photographers, Gary will offer you instant tools to help your business and creativity.

Background:

Gary is an internationally-renowned photographer who takes assignments and lectures around the globe. His work has been

profiled in international publications and books, and was recently featured in the video documentary "Photovision". He was also featured among the world's ten top photographers in "Weddings 2000", the largest educational event in the history of professional photography.


Andy Marcus

Photo Shoot:

Shooting the High-end Wedding- A Live Shoot with Jennifer and Charles Maring

Description:

Marcus will show how he works with clients to create beautiful portraits in a quick, efficient manner. The session will also include discussions on customer service and creative options to increase sales.

Andy Marcus Background:

Andy Marcus has been in the business of photographing weddings for over 40 years. He has steadily built up his reputation as the photographer to use in the New York area. Marcus has photographed the weddings of Eddie Murphy, Donald Trump, Mary Tyler Moore, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, Billy Baldwin and Chynna Phillips and the daughter of Mario Cuomo, former Governor of New York State.

TLC Is All You Need: Timing, Lighting, Composition

Description:

Michael Mowery will explain how T.L.C. (timing, lighting and composition) is the key ingredient to successful image making. This session will explore how to train your eye to see the image before you push the button; know where the direction of light is coming from; gain an angle for best perspective; and anticipate the action or reaction.

Background:

Michael Mowery, a self-taught photographer born in the Midwest, set out to New York City to pursue a career in photography. Working his way up the
ladder he has gained experience in

corporate, editorial, commercial and event photography. Today, 12 years later, he is the Top Photographer of Fred Marcus Studio located in New York City . His passion is digital photography, and he hopes to help lead the way for others to enter the digital world.

John Solano is a Los Angeles based photographer who has been capturing people and their special events on film since 1988. His passion for photography began as a hobby. He received his photographic training at the Art Center School of Design in Pasadena , CA . His lens has captured the images of numerous celebrity weddings throughout the years. The Most recent, Britney Spears and others like Andre Agassi and Brooke Shields, Slash of Guns 'n Roses, Tracey Gold and many others.

Description:

As visual artists, we are constantly searching (consciously or subconsciously) for inspiration that influence not only our work but more importantly our soul. All great work has a soul from which it came, one that's been inspired, one that inspires. This is not a session about workflow or any other technique. More so, it's a discussion about how to find what drives you visually and spiritually.

Background:
Residing in Tampa Florida 's historic Ybor City , Ryan has traveled throughout the US and Europe capturing the "soul" of his subject matter. Whether a street scene in Tuscany or a bride on the beach,
Ryan's goal is to expose what is real and honest through the medium of photography.

 


Kevin Kubota

Creating Spontaneity

Description:

Kevin Kubota's wedding photography has been featured in major photo magazines and advertisements. His images are often described as "fun, spontaneous, romantic, natural, and playful". This type of imagery requires more than just a journalistic eye, it requires planning, techniques for working with clients, and the ability to use creative inspiration in actual application. Kevin will share some of his favorite images and describe the tools and techniques used to create them.

Background:

Kevin Kubota is a wedding and portrait photographer with images that speak to the heart - filled with emotion, intimacy, and impact. His photos have been featured in a variety of magazines and books. Kubota is an internationally recognized speaker and educator whose digital expertise prompted him to create the popular "Digital Photography Bootcamp".
